The Season of Roses

The Season of Roses

Now that the garden is giving us such beautiful roses, we like pick “one at a time” and showcase the beauty of each variety; no need to group them in big bouguets.

Roses At Christmas!

Roses At Christmas!

Yes, living in California we still have roses blooming at Christmas, albeit the last of the season but the colors of deep pink and red add a festive touch to any corner of the room. A nice accent to have during the season.

Fall Leaves Bouquet

Fall Leaves Bouquet

I like to bring Fall into our home in California. Preserved leaves, hydrangea and twigs from the garden. I will add evergreen as we get closer to Christmas. Nice natural decorations for the Holiday Season

Fall Bouquet From Mark’s Garden

We in California are very blessed because we have Mark’s Garden. This is more than florist (also party planner, wedding planner and any other decorative needs for the big event. They have designed just about every celeb event we have here in Southern California.) They have such a natural way with flowers and colors and we were lucky to receive a very nice “thank you” from a relative who was recently a house guest. I had to share this beautiful arrangement with you.

Natural Color Pop

IMG_3988IMG_4386IMG_3685
How many times have we looked at Nature’s color choices and passed them by. This past week my eyes were filled with so many outstanding colors; I just had to share with you. Enjoy.

Garden Color

I like a “touch” of color in our garden. The garden is basically green but I like to place geraniums, impatiens and roses to give a “pop” of color. Most of these flowers are in pots and I do change and rotate depending on the season.

Geraniums in bright pink are put in strategic places such as the entry.

I also like to use my Sunbrella fabrics to add color. We contantly change pillows and table covers.

The rose garden blooms all summer in shades of red and pink.

Hydrangeas also bring a wonderful pop of color but they are not as hardy.

The “Son” Shines. A Father’s Tribute

My wife and I received the nicest bouquet from our son Joe Jr. for no particular reason just “Thank You.”

This random act of kindness means so much to me as a parent and certainly makes me a very proud Papa.
Thanks son.

A very beautiful "expression of love" from our son.
